All in all amazing place to re energize.
I loved this place. I visited to this place recently, with minimum expectations. But, this is a amazing place if you want to get out of the mechanical world. come down to this place with your loved one. Stay under the tent for a day or two. You can camp fire, cook food, fish.
Side note, don't leave valuables unattended someone made off with my folding table.
Really impressed with the facilities and overall cleanliness of the campground. Even on a holiday weekend we found a spot next to he bathrooms which were perfect and clean. Would seriously consider returning.
Nice state park. However, the bathrooms didn't have any sinks to wash your hands. Drove two hours to visit on a Saturday, and it would have been nice for them to post on the website that you can't do round-trip on weekends with your car across the ferry, so we had to walk almost 2 miles to the state park with an infant and 4yr old because it would have cost $60 to rent a gold cart.
There might be small glitches here and there but thats never a problem.
Absolutely beautiful. Staff was very helpful and friendly. However, they fit in as many campsites as possible, so there is NO privacy. If you are wanting to get away from people and enjoy the outdoors, this is not the place to be. What would usually be a campsite, was shared by 4 sites. Thankfully, the neighbors directly beside us were super nice, but the people behind us were there to party. They were so loud and drunk the entire time. However, if you want a cheap place to stay after you get trashed at all the bars, this is it. Just don't expect a camping experience.
Most sites are for camping. They do have some sites upfront for picnic. Beaches are stony. There is a play yard with swings etc. A covered area with picnic tables and some trees u can grill under. The covered area has some charcoal grills
